Event: Slash's Smash

The Slash's Smash card originates from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Eternal Tokens set, a collection designed to commemorate iconic moments and characters from the franchise's long-standing history. Released as a nod to the intense and often chaotic nature of the mutant turtle universe, the card highlights Slash, the aggressive and troubled mutant turtle whose complex origin story centers on his departure from the traditional heroic archetype of his brethren.

The design of the card emphasizes the character's signature spikes and volatile personality, utilizing a high-contrast aesthetic typical of the Eternal Tokens series. Illustrations for this set were commissioned to capture the gritty, comic-book-inspired roots of the original Mirage Studios run. Upon release, the set was received by fans as a nostalgic tribute that balanced classic character designs with the elevated production quality expected of modern collectible card series.
