Provenance

Where it came from

Expedition Map was originally introduced in the Zendikar expansion in 2009 as an uncommon artifact. Designed to support land-based strategies, its utility lies in the ability to search a library for any land card, a powerful mechanic that has made it a staple in various formats, particularly Commander, where consistency in finding key utility lands is highly valued.

This specific printing comes from the Modern Horizons 3 Commander set, released in 2024. Featuring artwork by Johannes Voss, the card continues the tradition of functional, low-cost utility artifacts. As part of a set designed to infuse Modern-legal cards into the Commander ecosystem, this version retains the classic design ethos of the original, serving as a reliable engine for players looking to tutor for specific geographic pieces.
