Where it came from
Faerie Seer was originally introduced in the Modern Horizons set in 2019, designed to provide blue decks with a low-cost, efficient utility creature. Its design centers on the 'scry' mechanic, allowing players to manipulate the top of their library, which solidified its place as a staple in Pauper and other competitive eternal formats. The card is intended to offer tactical early-game filtering while maintaining a small aerial presence on the battlefield.
The version included in Foundations Jumpstart, collector number 106, maintains this established mechanical identity while refreshing the card for a new generation of players. The artwork continues the tradition of depicting the ephemeral, mystical nature of faeries within the Magic: The Gathering multiverse. As part of the Foundations initiative, this reprint serves to ensure that essential, high-utility cards remain accessible and consistent for current deck-building strategies.
