Fire Covenant // Fire Covenant

Fire Covenant was originally released as a rare card in the 1995 Alliances expansion, designed by Wizards of the Coast to introduce high-risk, high-reward mechanics within the black and red color identity. The Lorwyn Eclipsed Art Series is a specialty, fan-curated collection of existing Magic: The Gathering cards, re-imagined with thematic visual aesthetics consistent with the high-fantasy, folklore-inspired setting of the Lorwyn plane.

This specific iteration, numbered 52, features art intended to capture the volatile, transformative nature of the Fire Covenant spell within the eerie, shadow-drenched context of Lorwyn's 'Shadowmoor' transition. The illustrators involved in this series sought to contrast the organic, whimsical art style of the original Lorwyn set with darker, more visceral imagery to reflect the spell's aggressive mechanical cost.
