Vibrance was released as part of the Lorwyn Eclipsed Art Series, an expansion that revisited the pastoral and folkloric themes of the original Lorwyn setting in Magic: The Gathering. Created to broaden the visual representation of the game's evolving multiverse, this series focused on highlighting the aesthetic nuances of high fantasy landscapes and magical phenomena, serving as a stylistic bridge between the dark intensity of Shadowmoor and the vibrant energy of the initial Lorwyn block.

The artwork was commissioned from Mark Zug, a veteran illustrator known for his richly textured and painterly approach to fantasy art. Zug sought to capture the ephemeral nature of the card's namesake effect through a warm, ethereal color palette and soft, focused lighting.
