Foulmire Knight // Profane Insight

Foulmire Knight was originally released in the 2019 Magic: The Gathering expansion Throne of Eldraine, a set heavily inspired by European folklore and fairy tales. The card introduces the 'Adventure' mechanic, which allows players to cast the creature as an instant or sorcery from their hand before placing it onto the battlefield. This design was intended to provide players with flexible, multi-stage utility, reflecting the narrative theme of characters embarking on quests.

The artwork was commissioned from Alex Brock, who utilized a moody, atmospheric palette to capture the knight's unsettling, undead nature.
