Where it came from
Frenzied Devils was released in 2021 as part of the Innistrad: Crimson Vow set for Magic: The Gathering. This set returned players to the gothic horror-themed plane of Innistrad, focusing on a vampire-themed wedding between Olivia Voldaren and Edgar Markov. The card serves as a representative of the chaotic, aggressive spirits that populate the world's eerie landscapes, fitting into the set's broader mechanical focus on red-aligned aggro strategies.
The artwork for the card was created by artist Bryan Sola, who utilized a vivid color palette of deep reds and purples to emphasize the frenzied, volatile nature of the creatures. Sola aimed to capture the kinetic energy of the devils as they manifest through fire and madness. Upon its release, the card was received as a functional, flavorful inclusion for players looking to bolster their red creature suites in both Limited formats and casual Commander decks.
