What it does
Whenever a creature you control connives, put a +1/+1 counter on that creature and a plan counter on this enchantment.
When the sixth plan counter is put on this enchantment, sacrifice it. If you do, exile the top four cards of your library. You may cast any number of spells from among them without paying their mana costs. Put the rest into your hand.

Where it came from
Glorious Purpose was released as part of the 2024 Magic: The Gathering set titled Marvel Super Heroes Commander. This set was designed to integrate the expansive Marvel Cinematic Universe into the mechanics of the Commander format, offering players the chance to field iconic heroes and villains as central figures in their decks. The card specifically draws from the narrative of the Loki series, capturing the character's complex quest for identity and his manipulation of time and destiny.
The art and design were developed by Wizards of the Coast in collaboration with Marvel, aiming to evoke the high-stakes, multiversal aesthetic seen on screen. The card represents a strategic enchantment that reflects the trickster god's influence over his surroundings. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of both the game and the franchise for its thematic accuracy and its functional role in enabling complex, synergistic gameplay patterns in a multiplayer environment.
