Glory

Glory was originally printed as a rare card in the Judgment expansion for Magic: The Gathering in 2002. Shortly thereafter, it was featured in the 2002 World Championship Decks, a product line released by Wizards of the Coast that allowed players to purchase exact, card-for-card replicas of the decks used by finalists at the annual World Championship tournament. These versions are easily identified by their distinct gold-bordered backs and the signatures of the professional players printed directly onto the card faces.

The card was illustrated by Greg Staples, whose work often captures a sense of ethereal, high-fantasy grandeur. In the context of the 2002 competitive meta, the card provided a powerful defensive utility, granting creatures the ability to gain protection from a chosen color. While the original set version remains a staple for collectors, the World Championship printing serves as a tangible piece of competitive history, representing the specific strategies that defined the professional landscape of that year.
