Goblin Digging Team

Goblin Digging Team was originally released in the 1997 Weatherlight expansion before being reprinted as card number 186 in the Seventh Edition core set, which arrived in 2001. As a core set release, it served to maintain the presence of iconic creature archetypes in the game, specifically the aggressive and often self-destructive nature of goblin tribal decks. The design intent was to provide red-aligned players with a utility creature capable of manipulating the board state by destroying artifacts, albeit at the cost of sacrificing itself.

The artwork for the Seventh Edition printing was provided by artist Quinton Hoover.
