Gregor, Shrewd Magistrate

Gregor, Shrewd Magistrate was released as part of the Magic: The Gathering Universes Within initiative, a collection designed to bridge the gap between popular intellectual properties and the game's core internal lore. This specific card represents the mechanical adaptation of characters originally introduced through collaborative sets, allowing players to utilize unique abilities within the traditional multiverse setting without relying on the specific branding of the initial partnership.

The design of the card emphasizes a thematic focus on tactical control and resource management, reflecting the 'Shrewd' moniker in both its art direction and rules text. By stripping away external franchise labels, the Universes Within line ensures that the card's visual identity remains cohesive with the broader game world while maintaining the mechanical integrity of the original design, a move that was largely welcomed by players who prioritize functional deck-building compatibility over proprietary crossovers.
