Where it came from
Guiltfeeder was originally printed in the Judgment expansion in 2002 before being reprinted in Commander 2016. As a black creature with the fear keyword and a triggered ability that forces opponents to lose life based on their graveyard size, it was designed to reward players for the attrition-based strategies common in black-aligned decks. Its inclusion in the 2016 Commander product, specifically within the Invent Superiority preconstructed deck, helped integrate it into the multiplayer format where graveyard density is often much higher than in traditional two-player formats.
