Hildibrand Manderville // Gentleman's Rise

Hildibrand Manderville, the self-styled inspector extraordinaire, originates from the long-running Final Fantasy XIV online role-playing game. First introduced in the A Realm Reborn expansion, the character serves as the lead in a recurring, slapstick-heavy side quest series known for its comedic contrast against the game's typically serious tone. The 'Gentleman's Rise' card captures his quintessential flair and chaotic energy, serving as a homage to his role as a beloved, albeit incompetent, detective within the game's expansive lore.

This card was released as part of a crossover collaboration between Final Fantasy XIV and Magic: The Gathering, featuring art that reflects the stylistic sensibilities of the game's iconic character design. The illustration emphasizes Hildibrand’s signature pose and dapper attire, aiming to replicate the lighthearted animation style of his cutscenes. Upon release, the card was received warmly by the player base as a whimsical inclusion that acknowledges the franchise's dedication to character-driven storytelling and community-favorite personalities.
