What it does
Counter target spell. If that spell is countered this way, put that card on your choice of the top or bottom of its owner's library instead of into that player's graveyard.

Where it came from
Hinder was originally printed in the Champions of Kamigawa set in 2004, serving as a functional counterspell that addressed the unique mechanical focus of the Kamigawa block on interactions with the library and graveyard. Its inclusion in the 2020 Double Masters set served as a deliberate nod to its utility in the Commander format, where the ability to tuck a commander into a player's library became a significant strategic pivot point before the rules regarding command zone transitions were amended.
The Double Masters iteration features updated card frame technology and premium manufacturing quality characteristic of the set's high-end focus. As a reprint, the design retains the original essence of the card while benefiting from the crisp, modernized aesthetic of the Masters series, which was curated by Wizards of the Coast to highlight staples that have sustained long-term relevance across multiple competitive and casual Magic: The Gathering playgroups.
