Hollow Dogs

Hollow Dogs debuted in the Ninth Edition core set of Magic: The Gathering, released in July 2005. As a core set, Ninth Edition served as a bridge for players, featuring reprints from various previous expansions rather than a new thematic narrative. The inclusion of Hollow Dogs provided a mid-range black creature for the set’s limited environment, reflecting the game's long-standing tradition of utilizing undead or spirit-based canine motifs to represent dark, necromantic aesthetics.
