Ice-Fang Coatl

Ice-Fang Coatl was originally released in 2019 as part of the Modern Horizons expansion for Magic: The Gathering. Designed as a nod to the classic card Baleful Strix, it was intended to provide a powerful, defensive utility creature for blue-green control strategies in competitive formats like Modern and Legacy. Its inclusion in Mystery Booster 2 serves to highlight popular or impactful cards from the game's recent history, reintroducing them to a new audience within a curated play experience.

The card’s illustration was crafted by artist Nils Hamm, whose distinctive, ethereal, and painterly style often defines the visual identity of legendary creatures and spirits within the game.
