Ice Storm was originally released in the 1995 expansion set Ice Age, where it functioned as a rare green sorcery card capable of destroying lands. The 30th Anniversary Edition, released in 2022, serves as a commemorative printing intended to celebrate three decades of the Magic: The Gathering card game. This version retains the original artwork and core mechanics but features a distinct back design and holographic security stamp to differentiate it from the collectible cards of the nineties. While it maintains the visual identity of the original, it was issued as a non-tournament-legal product, aimed primarily at collectors seeking to own a piece of the game's expansive history.
