Where it came from
Illusion // Reality is a split card first introduced in the Invasion expansion for Magic: The Gathering in 2000, designed to showcase the set's themes of versatility and multi-colored synergy. This specific version appeared in the 2023 Dominaria Remastered set, a curated compilation designed to celebrate the history of the plane of Dominaria, which serves as the foundational setting for the game's expansive lore.
The card features artwork by Christopher Moeller, who has been a consistent and iconic illustrator for the game since the late 1990s. His design for this card utilizes a distinct, illustrative style that emphasizes the whimsical and shifting nature of the card's effects, which allow players to swap creatures or destroy enchantments, reflecting the tactical flexibility that characterizes the blue-white color identity.
