Where it came from
Imodane's Recruiter was originally printed as a rare card in the 2023 expansion Wilds of Eldraine, a set centered on a fairy-tale inspired plane within the Magic: The Gathering multiverse. The card features a double-faced design, a mechanic often employed to represent character evolution or narrative transformations, depicting the titular recruiter on the front and her ability to influence battlefield tactics on the reverse.
The card was designed to support aggressive red-aligned archetypes by providing both a creature threat and a strategic pump effect. Its inclusion in 'The List'—a curated selection of reprints integrated into set boosters—highlights its utility and popularity among players who value flexible, high-impact tactical options in competitive and limited formats. The artwork and mechanical identity were crafted to reflect the bold, assertive nature of Eldraine's knights and adventuring parties.
