What it does
When this enchantment enters, search your library for a legendary creature card with mana value X or less, exile it, then shuffle.
At the beginning of your first main phase, you may introduce the exiled card using an introduction you haven't used this game. If you do, put that card onto the battlefield. It gains haste. Exile that creature at the beginning of the next end step.

Where it came from
The In Residence card was released as part of the MagicFest 2026 promotional suite, a collection intended to commemorate the return of large-scale, community-focused gathering events for Magic: The Gathering. These cards were distributed exclusively through on-site event activations, designed to reward players for active participation in the social and competitive atmosphere of the circuit.
The visual direction for the card was helmed by the Magic design team, focusing on themes of community, shelter, and the communal 'residence' of the player base within the game's organized play environment. The artistic style mirrors the refined, minimalist aesthetic favored in recent supplemental sets, aiming to evoke a sense of professional craftsmanship that resonated well with long-term collectors and players who appreciate the evolution of the game's iconography.
