What it does
Flash
When this creature enters, until end of turn, whenever a nontoken creature you control dies, create a number of 1/1 green Saproling creature tokens equal to that creature's power.
Jund doesn't have a food chain so much as a mass feeding frenzy.

Where it came from
Infested Thrinax was released in 2024 as part of the Modern Horizons 3 Commander set, a collection specifically designed to integrate new, powerful cards into the Magic: The Gathering ecosystem. The card embodies the set's thematic emphasis on graveyard synergy and creature-based attrition, specifically focusing on the Jund color identity of Black, Red, and Green. It functions as a tactical engine, rewarding players for sacrificing their own creatures by creating a swarming board presence of Saproling tokens.
The card features artwork by Wisnu Tan, who captures the grotesque, organic nature of the Thrinax creature type—a staple of the Alara block lore. The design choice reflects a modern mechanical update to the classic 'Thrinax' archetype, prioritizing utility and board control. Upon its release, it was noted by the player base for its efficiency in sacrifice-oriented decks, serving as a reliable way to maintain pressure during multiplayer Commander games.
