What it does
Flash
When this creature enters, until end of turn, whenever a nontoken creature you control dies, create a number of 1/1 green Saproling creature tokens equal to that creature's power.
Jund doesn't have a food chain so much as a mass feeding frenzy.

Where it came from
Infested Thrinax was released in 2024 as part of the Modern Horizons 3 Commander set, a collection specifically curated for the Commander format. It functions as a callback to the Jund-aligned creature type introduced during the Shards of Alara block, designed to synergize with sacrifice-oriented strategies that define the Grixis and Jund color identities in multi-player play.
The card features artwork by Wisnu Tan, who emphasizes the grotesque, parasitic nature of the creature. The design intent was to provide a functional engine piece for tokens and graveyard-focused decks, receiving a positive reception from players who appreciate its ability to generate incremental value upon death within the fast-paced environment of modern Commander.
