Inga Rune-Eyes

Inga Rune-Eyes first appeared in the Kaldheim set for Magic: The Gathering, drawing heavy inspiration from Norse mythology and the sagas of the Viking-inspired plane. The character is depicted as a blind seer who trades her sight for profound, often harrowing, visions of the future. The design aesthetic emphasizes this supernatural sacrifice through her rune-etched mask and the spectral, glowing eyes that replace her physical sight, grounding her in the game's broader exploration of high-fantasy mysticism and tragic heroism.

The Multiverse Legends version of this card, released as a special showcase frame, features art that leans into the ethereal and mythological roots of the character. Illustrators for this series focused on a distinctive, stylistic presentation that separates the card from its standard set release, aiming to evoke the feel of ancient wood carvings or illuminated manuscripts. This treatment was well-received by players and collectors for its cohesive artistic vision, which emphasizes Inga's role as a legendary figure rather than a mere tactical asset.
