Ingot Chewer

Ingot Chewer was originally introduced in the 2007 Magic: The Gathering expansion Lorwyn. Designed as a common red elemental creature, its mechanical purpose was to provide players with a repeatable or efficient way to destroy artifacts, utilizing the evoke keyword to enter the battlefield temporarily for a lower mana cost. The card quickly became a staple in various formats for its utility in dealing with problematic artifacts while maintaining pressure on the board.

The card features artwork by the renowned fantasy illustrator Kev Walker, whose distinct, gritty style defined much of the visual identity of the Lorwyn block. Walker’s depiction captures the creature’s destructive nature, emphasizing its jagged, metallic form and elemental ferocity.
