Where it came from
Intrude on the Mind is an uncommon blue instant card released in the 2024 Magic: The Gathering set, Murders at Karlov Manor. The set is themed around a top-down mystery narrative set on the plane of Ravnica, designed to evoke the aesthetic and mechanical tropes of detective fiction and noir crime dramas. Mechanically, the card allows players to exile a nonland permanent and create a token that copies it, reflecting the set's focus on Clue tokens and investigative themes.
The card’s illustration was created by artist Livia Prima, who has contributed extensively to the Magic: The Gathering card pool. In line with the Murders at Karlov Manor art direction, the visual style leans into the dramatic lighting and gothic architecture characteristic of the Ravnican setting. Upon release, the card was noted for its utility in limited formats and its ability to act as a versatile answer to threats, balancing removal with the potential to mirror a powerful opponent's resources.
