What it does
Whenever you commit a crime, exile up to one target black card from your graveyard and copy it. You may cast the copy. If you do, you lose 2 life. (Targeting opponents, anything they control, and/or cards in their graveyards is a crime. Copies of permanent spells become tokens.)

Where it came from
Kaervek, the Punisher was released in 2024 as part of the Outlaws of Thunder Junction expansion for Magic: The Gathering. This set departed from traditional high fantasy, drawing heavy inspiration from Western tropes and outlaw narratives. Kaervek, a long-established villain in the game's lore, was reimagined here as a criminal mastermind navigating the frontier aesthetic of the Omenpaths.
The card features artwork by artist Livia Prima, who rendered the character in a style consistent with the gritty, dusty atmosphere of the Thunder Junction plane. As a promo card with the collector number 92p, this version was distributed through specific promotional channels such as Prerelease kits or store events. It was designed to function as a synergy-focused piece, rewarding players for casting spells from their graveyards, a theme that emphasizes the character's legacy of chaos and manipulation.
