Kazandu Refuge

Kazandu Refuge was originally introduced in the Zendikar expansion in 2009 as a common land card, designed to provide players with both mana flexibility and a small amount of life gain. The card features art by Véronique Meunier, who captured the lush, overgrown aesthetic of the Zendikar plane, a setting characterized by its dangerous wilderness and rich, ancient history. This specific printing appeared in the 2013 Commander set, a product line released by Wizards of the Coast to support the popular multiplayer Commander format. By including staples like the Refuge cycle in these preconstructed decks, the developers ensured that players had access to necessary mana-fixing tools.
