Kazandu Refuge

Kazandu Refuge was originally designed as part of the Zendikar set, released in 2009. It was crafted as a cycle of uncommon lands intended to provide players with color fixing through entering the battlefield tapped and gaining two life, a mechanic that supported the set's emphasis on adventurous, landscape-focused gameplay. The artwork by Véronique Meunier captures the lush, untamed aesthetic of the Zendikar plane, emphasizing the vibrant, overgrown atmosphere that defined the world’s visual identity during this era of Magic: The Gathering.

This specific iteration of the card appeared in the Starter Commander Decks, a product line released to provide accessible, ready-to-play options for players entering the Commander format.
