Kitesail Cleric // Kitesail Cleric

The Zendikar Rising Art Series was released in 2020 as a specialty collection within the broader Zendikar Rising expansion for Magic: The Gathering. These cards were designed to highlight the high-fidelity illustration work of the set, featuring full-art versions of cards without the typical gameplay text overlays. This initiative allowed the community to appreciate the intricate visual storytelling found in the game's creature and spell designs, which are central to the identity of the Zendikar plane.

The Kitesail Cleric artwork was produced by artist Igor Kieryluk, whose contribution focuses on the agile, Kor-inspired aesthetic synonymous with Zendikar’s geography. The design emphasizes the character's vertical mobility and tactical equipment, rendered with the atmospheric lighting typical of the set's art direction. Upon release, these cards were received favorably by art enthusiasts and collectors as a premium, aesthetically focused alternative to the functional standard gameplay cards.
