Kor Skyfisher

Kor Skyfisher was originally printed in the 2009 Zendikar expansion, an set heavily focused on themes of exploration and land-based mechanics. The card quickly became a staple in various formats due to its efficient mana cost and its ability to trigger enter-the-battlefield effects by returning a permanent to its owner's hand. Its inclusion in the 2010 Duel Decks: Elspeth vs. Tezzeret release brought the card to a broader audience, positioning it as a functional utility creature within the white-aligned Elspeth deck.

The artwork for this version was illustrated by Christopher Moeller, who captured the nomadic, avian-tethered nature of the Kor people native to the plane of Zendikar. Moeller's illustration emphasizes the verticality and aerial movement central to the creature's gameplay role. The design was praised for its balance, as the requirement to bounce a permanent creates a meaningful strategic choice that rewards careful deck construction and sequencing.
