Krosan Verge

Krosan Verge was originally released in the 2002 Judgement expansion, designed as an uncommon land that offers a unique utility by allowing players to search their library for both a Forest and a Plains card. It represents the overgrown, magical wilderness of Krosa on the plane of Otaria, a setting defined by the massive, encroaching forest that consumed much of the continent following the events of the Mirari saga. The card was designed to facilitate mana fixing in multi-color decks, specifically those utilizing green and white, while providing a thematic nod to the forest's expansive and hungry nature.

The Planechase Anthology version, featuring collector number 123, utilizes the classic illustration by John Avon, whose lush, sweeping landscapes are a hallmark of Magic: The Gathering's visual identity. Avon’s art captures the dense, verdant atmosphere of the Verge, emphasizing the depth and scale of the magical woods. This printing arrived as part of a curated collection designed to support the multiplayer Planechase format, ensuring that staple utility lands remained accessible to players as the game's various formats continued to evolve and expand.
