Leechridden Swamp

The Leechridden Swamp was first introduced as an uncommon land card in the 2007 Lorwyn expansion, designed as part of a cycle of utility lands that provided specific effects linked to the set's tribal themes. Within the Duel Decks: Nissa vs. Ob Nixilis release, which debuted in 2016, it was included to support the mechanical synergies of the black-aligned deck. The card features a distinct, desolate aesthetic consistent with the dark, boggy environments found within the Magic: The Gathering multiverse, emphasizing the rot and decay themes associated with the Swamp card type.

The original illustration for the card was created by artist Jaime Jones, who aimed to capture a claustrophobic and menacing atmosphere through muted tones and twisted vegetation.
