Lieutenant Commander Data

Lieutenant Commander Data, assigned the collector number 371, is a central character card from the early Star Trek collectible card game series produced by Decipher, Inc. Released during the mid-1990s at the height of the franchise's resurgence, the set was designed to immerse players in the narrative complexity of The Next Generation. The card features a character portrait of the android officer, reflecting the show's exploration of artificial intelligence and humanity, which served as a recurring thematic anchor for the series.

The visual design of these cards drew heavily upon the established aesthetic of Paramount's production, utilizing promotional stills and high-quality photography to maintain continuity with the television series. The card was crafted to appeal to both competitive players and dedicated fans of the Star Trek universe, aiming to provide a tactile connection to the ship's crew. Upon its release, the set was well-regarded by collectors for its attention to detail and for successfully translating the strategic elements of the show into a tabletop format.
