Lieutenant Commander Data

Lieutenant Commander Data, assigned the collector number 69 in the Star Trek trading card set, serves as a representation of the iconic android officer introduced in Star Trek: The Next Generation. This card was produced to capture the character's unique role as the ship's operations officer, emphasizing his pursuit of humanity and his distinct logical processing capabilities. Such cards were designed to appeal to the burgeoning fan base of the series during the late 1980s and early 1990s, offering collectors a tangible connection to the crew of the USS Enterprise-D.

The aesthetic of the card aligns with the standard design language employed for Star Trek memorabilia of that era, typically featuring a promotional still from the show framed by series-specific branding. These illustrations and photographic choices were curated to highlight Data's signature yellow operations uniform and his stoic yet inquisitive expression. Upon release, the set was well-received by fans and hobbyists, who valued these items as essential documentation of the franchise's expanding character roster and lore.
