Living Wish

Living Wish was originally released in the 2002 Judgment expansion, designed as part of a cycle of 'Wish' cards that allowed players to retrieve cards from outside their current deck. This mechanic offered a unique strategic advantage in competitive play by granting access to a sideboard during a game, essentially serving as a utility tool for adjusting to specific matchups. The Masters 25 printing, featuring collector number 179, serves as a contemporary reprint that maintains the card's functional identity while updating the aesthetics for a modern set celebrating the history of the game.

The art for this iteration is deeply rooted in the game's tradition of high-fantasy illustration, focusing on the thematic essence of a wish being granted or summoned through magical conduits. By the time of the Masters 25 release, the card had been a staple in various formats, particularly those where sideboards are utilized. The design aims to capture the ephemeral and powerful nature of the spell, reinforcing its status as a foundational piece of utility for spellcasters within the game's ecosystem.
