Provenance

Where it came from

The Magitek Infantry card, numbered 25 in the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game, represents the iconic armored soldiers of the Gestahlian Empire from Final Fantasy VI. These units, powered by captured Espers, serve as the primary antagonists during the opening act of the game, embodying the steampunk-inspired technological dominance of the imperial military.

The design of the card leans into the mechanical aesthetic established by series art director Tetsuya Nomura and Yoshitaka Amano's original character concepts. It captures the distinct, bulky silhouette of the infantrymen, emphasizing their role as mass-produced infantry that bridges the gap between traditional fantasy armor and industrial warfare.
