Where it came from

Mana Crypt is one of the most storied artifacts in the history of Magic: The Gathering, originally debuting as a promotional card for the 1995 book Arena. Designed by Richard Garfield to represent an ancient, volatile source of magical power, it was intentionally balanced with a significant drawback to offset its ability to generate rapid mana advantages early in a game.

The Special Guests version, released as part of the 2024 ecosystem, features the distinct, angular, and high-contrast art style of Dominik Mayer.
