Maniacal Rage

Maniacal Rage was released in 2009 as part of the Conflux expansion for Magic: The Gathering. As the second set in the Alara block, Conflux focused on the convergence of the five shards of the Alara plane, emphasizing multicolored themes and aggressive mechanics. This common enchantment was designed to bolster red's identity as a color of impulsive speed and recklessness, providing a power boost and haste to a creature at the expense of forced attacks each turn.

The artwork was provided by Brandon Kitkouski, a frequent illustrator for the game during that era. Kitkouski’s depiction emphasizes the visceral, unhinged nature of the card's effect, capturing a frantic figure mid-outburst.
