Midnight Mayhem // Midnight Mayhem

Midnight Mayhem was released as part of the Duskmourn: House of Horror Art Series in 2024. This collection serves as a commemorative set within the broader Magic: The Gathering ecosystem, designed to showcase the intricate, horror-themed illustrations that define the plane of Duskmourn. These cards are non-playable aesthetic pieces, created to provide players and collectors with high-quality representations of the atmospheric, 1980s-inspired supernatural art found throughout the main set.

The artwork for this piece captures the visceral, trope-heavy aesthetic characteristic of the Duskmourn creative direction, which draws heavily from retro-horror cinema and slasher motifs. By stripping away the game mechanics and card frames, the art series allows the visual storytelling to occupy the entire card surface. The illustration was received as a strong example of the set's commitment to immersive world-building, emphasizing the eerie, claustrophobic environment that defines the House of Horror.
