Miles Morales // Ultimate Spider-Man

The 108s Miles Morales promotional card was issued as part of a series designed to coincide with the multimedia expansion of the Spider-Man brand, specifically highlighting the integration of the Ultimate Spider-Man iteration of the character into broader Marvel marketing campaigns. It emerged during a period when Miles Morales was transitioning from a niche comic book protagonist to a cornerstone of Marvel’s modern intellectual property portfolio, serving as a tactile bridge between the comic book source material and the growing universe of digital and collectible merchandise.

The aesthetic of the card leans into the high-contrast, kinetic visual language characteristic of Ultimate Spider-Man media, prioritizing the character's iconic black and red suit design. The illustration was crafted to emphasize the agility and youthful energy of Morales, aiming to distinguish him visually from Peter Parker’s classic iconography. Upon release, these promotional cards were distributed through specialized hobby channels and event-based giveaways, quickly becoming sought-after items for collectors looking to document the character's rising prominence in the early 2010s.
