Mogis's Favor

Mogis's Favor was released in the 2020 expansion set Theros Beyond Death, a return to the Greek mythology-inspired plane of Theros. Designed as a common-rarity enchantment within the Magic: The Gathering card game, this card reflects the violent and chaotic nature of Mogis, the god of slaughter. Mechanically, it functions as an aura that grants a creature a power and toughness boost while providing an escape cost, a keyword mechanic central to the set that allowed players to cast spells from their graveyard by exiling other cards.

The artwork was illustrated by Anastasia Ovchinnikova, who captured the grim aesthetic of the Theros underworld. The design emphasizes the card's role as a temporary, aggressive buff, visually representing the influence of a god of war on a mortal follower. Upon its release, the card became a notable staple in constructed formats such as Pauper, where its ability to buff creatures while maintaining utility from the graveyard made it a highly efficient choice for aggressive black-aligned decks.
