Moorish Cavalry

Moorish Cavalry was originally released in the 1994 Arabian Nights expansion, the first ever expansion set for Magic: The Gathering. Inspired by the folklore of the One Thousand and One Nights, the set was designed by Richard Garfield to capture a specific mythological flavor. The card itself features artwork by Quinton Hoover, an iconic illustrator whose distinctive, flowing style became synonymous with the early visual identity of the game.

The version included in the 2006 Time Spiral Timeshifted set serves as a nostalgic homage to the game's formative years. Wizards of the Coast included a subset of 121 cards from throughout Magic's history, reprinting them with their original art but using the modern card frame. This particular release was received warmly by long-term collectors, as it made rare and classic cards accessible while celebrating the aesthetic evolution of the game’s design.
