Myr Superion

Myr Superion was originally released as a DCI promotional card, distributed to players through organized play initiatives in the early 2010s. The card belongs to the Myr creature type, a recurring element of the Magic: The Gathering lore originating from the metallic plane of Mirrodin. Designed as a high-power, low-cost construct, its ability forces players to cast it using mana produced specifically by other creatures, reflecting the synergistic nature of artifact-heavy decks common in that era of the game.

The card features artwork by Mike Dringenberg, a renowned illustrator known for his definitive work on the Sandman comic series. Dringenberg's aesthetic for this piece emphasizes the cold, industrial artifice of the Mirrodin setting, rendering the Myr Superion with a sleek, menacing metallic sheen. Upon its release, it became a point of interest for competitive players looking to leverage its stats in specialized decks, and its unique mana restriction remains a notable mechanical puzzle for deck builders.
