Neverwinter Dryad // Neverwinter Dryad

The Neverwinter Dryad card is part of the Art Series released within the Adventures in the Forgotten Realms expansion for Magic: The Gathering, which debuted in 2021. This set was a landmark collaboration between Wizards of the Coast and the Dungeons & Dragons brand, marking the first time the iconic tabletop roleplaying setting was fully integrated into the Magic card game mechanics. These Art Series cards were specifically produced as promotional collectibles, designed to showcase the vibrant illustrations commissioned for the set in a format free of game-play text.

The illustration featured on this specific card was crafted by artist Lie Setiawan. In creating this piece, the artist aimed to capture the ethereal, forest-bound nature of a dryad inhabiting the iconic landscape of the Forgotten Realms. The piece is characterized by a high-definition focus on texture and lighting, which was intended to highlight the intricate detail work that often gets minimized on standard-sized play cards. Upon its release, the card was well-received by collectors who prioritize the aesthetic and lore-heavy aspects of the Dungeons & Dragons crossover event.
