Provenance

Where it came from

Nimbus Maze was originally printed in the 2007 Future Sight expansion for Magic: The Gathering, intended as a mechanically experimental land that offered color flexibility by reflecting the presence of specific basic land types. It was brought back for the 2021 Forgotten Realms Commander set, where it served as a functional reprint to help players manage mana bases in multicolored decks themed around the Dungeons & Dragons universe.

The artwork for the reprint in the Forgotten Realms Commander set was created by illustrator Titus Lunter, who focused on capturing the ethereal, shifting geography of the Dungeons & Dragons setting. Lunter's design sought to evoke the sense of a mystical, unstable landscape, aligning with the card's function of navigating shifting magical resources within a game.
