Where it came from
Oblivion Ring was first introduced in the 2007 Magic: The Gathering set Lorwyn. Designed to provide white mana decks with a flexible, albeit temporary, answer to any nonland permanent, the card quickly became a staple of both Limited and Constructed formats. The original illustration for the Lorwyn release was crafted by Greg Staples.
