Ohran Frostfang // Ohran Frostfang

The Ohran Frostfang art series card is part of a specialty subset released within the Commander Masters expansion in 2023. These cards were designed to highlight the illustrative talent behind the Magic: The Gathering franchise, presenting artwork on the front without the traditional game text or borders found on standard cards. This series serves as a celebration of the visual identity of the game, curating popular creatures and spells from the history of Commander play for fans who appreciate the aesthetic depth of the medium.

The illustration for Ohran Frostfang was originally created by artist Wisnutanu Baskoro for the card's debut in the Throne of Eldraine set. Baskoro focused on capturing the predatory, icy essence of the creature, utilizing cold, sharp lighting to emphasize its lethal role as a combat threat. The piece is widely regarded for its atmospheric composition, which translates well to the frame-less presentation of the Art Series, allowing collectors to examine the finer details of the brushwork and color palette without the obstruction of game mechanics.
