Oracle's Restoration // Oracle's Restoration

Oracle's Restoration is part of the Secrets of Strixhaven Art Series, a promotional collection released by Wizards of the Coast in 2021 to accompany the Strixhaven: School of Mages expansion for Magic: The Gathering. These cards were designed to highlight the aesthetic identity of the set, specifically focusing on the arcane, collegiate atmosphere of the fictional Strixhaven university. The series serves as a celebration of the high-fantasy illustration work that defines the game's visual storytelling.

The artwork for this particular piece was created by artist Livia Prima, who has contributed numerous illustrations to the Magic: The Gathering library. In this piece, Prima focuses on the themes of academic recovery and magical healing prevalent in the set's lore, utilizing a palette and composition intended to evoke the solemn, scholarly environment of the school's library. Upon release, the Art Series was well-received by collectors who prioritized the tactile, gallery-style presentation of the game's commissioned concept art.
