Oraxid was released as part of the Nemesis expansion for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game in February 2000. As the final set of the Urza block, Nemesis focused on the conflict between the Phyrexians and the forces of Rath, introducing mechanics like fading and the ability to turn creatures face down.
