Orim's Chant

Orim's Chant was originally printed in the 2000 Planeshift expansion, a set centered on the Phyrexian invasion of the plane of Dominaria. Within the game's lore, the card depicts the healer Orim, a pivotal figure who utilized her light-based magic to protect her allies. Designed as a versatile white instant, the card gained significant notoriety for its ability to prevent an opponent from casting spells, effectively locking them out of a turn at a critical juncture.

The artwork, illustrated by Greg Staples, captures a somber and resolute tone consistent with the high-stakes narrative of the Invasion cycle. Upon its release, it became a staple in competitive formats, particularly in Legacy and Vintage, where its capacity to silence an opponent's responses for a single mana defined its strategic value. This specific version, appearing in The List, serves as a recurring reprinting of the original design, maintaining its historical significance for both players and collectors.
